Brahmanettes Add Two More Wins
The Brahmanettes hosted Cypress Creek and Schulenburg High School Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity volleyball teams to matches on Tuesday, August 14th. The Freshman and JV teams played at Bellville Junior High, while the Varsity teams faced each other at the High School.
Bellville and 6A Cypress Creek started things off with Bellville sweeping the match 3-0 with scores of 25-19, 25-16, and 26-24. The Brahmanettes trailed 24-20 in the last game, and reeled off 6 straight points to win the game. There were several long volleys and Cypress Creek came close to winning the game, but the Brahmanettes finished strong to close out the match.
Schulenburg and Cypress Creek then played, with Cypress Creek winning the match 3-1. The Shorthorns have a very tall and athletic team giving Cypress Creek all they could handle, but the stronger team prevailed at the end.
Bellville and Schulenburg then closed out the evening with the final match. Schulenburg also played tough against the Brahmanettes, holding leads several times in each game. However, the Brahmanettes once again showed their resilience and swept the Shorthorns in three games. The scores were 25-19, 25-13, and 25-22.
At the Junior High, the Junior Varsity went 1-1, and the Freshman team went 2-0.
The Brahmanettes will play in the Bastrop ISD Varsity Volleyball Tournament this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
They start pool play on Thursday at Cedar Creek High School facing Wimberly at 12:00pm. They will then face Temple at 2:30pm and end the day with Thrall at 6:15pm.

As Coach Susan Brewer closes in on her 1,000th victory, BellvilleSports.com plans to have a live broadcast of the historic game if possible.
