Brahmas travel to Bay City
The Bellville Brahmas will face the Bay City Blackcats in Bay City on Friday night at 7:30pm. Bellville defeated Madisonville 10 - 7 last week in Madisonville on a fourth quarter comeback.
Bay City fell to Cuero 49 - 42 last week, as the Blackcats rallied from 20 points down in the 4th quarter, only to see Cuero score a a 92 yard touchdown pass to win it.
The Brahma football game will be streamed live on www.BellvilleSports.com or can be found here on the Live Broadcast Page. The pregame show will air at 7:00pm with kickoff scheduled for 7:30pm.
Bay City Notebook from Bruce White and The Bellville Times:
This is the ninth meeting between Bellville and Bay City. The Brahmas hold a 5 - 3 - 0 series edge. The teams will be facing each other for the fifth straight season after not having played each other since 1952, a 7 - 0 Bi-District win. Bay City won the series opener in 1937 14 - 6. Bellville's first win came in 1938, 22 - 0 in Bi-District.
The Brahmas had a four game winning steak over the Blackcats until last season, when Bay City won 35 - 34 in overtime in Bellville. The Brahmas had two big wins over Bay City when the series resumed, topping the Blackcats 62 - 6 in 2014 and 42 - 7 in 2015. Bellville won the 2016 game by a score of 14 - 6.
Travel Update:
If you plan on attending the game, Traffic & Parking will be tough due to construction at Bay City Junior High site. Please allow extra time for traffic, parking & walking to stadium.
*NOTE* Sycamore in front of BCJH, along with 12th & 13th Streets in vicinity of stadium will be closed. Sycamore will be one-way with all traffic traveling south. Some parking will be available in these areas, but once full, street will be closed.
Handicap parking will be available at the stadium. Other parking at stadium is first-come first-served.
ENTRANCES: All guests will be scanned with a metal detector. You might consider leaving items in your car/at home that will set off metal detector wands. Three home side gates will be open, and one on visitor's side.
